Services

At The Wild School, all sessions and programmes are grounded in a deep understanding of child development and delivered through purposeful outdoor learning. Each programme is designed to support children to grow as confident, curious, and capable learners- academically, socially, and emotionally.

Wild Learning sessions run in 6-week blocks and are split into age groups of 5–7 and 8–12.

Wild Maths

Nature-powered numeracy for confident, curious mathematical thinkers
Wild Maths sessions develop strong mathematical thinking through hands-on, real-world experiences in the outdoors. Instead of worksheets or abstract exercises, children explore number, measure, pattern, data, and problem-solving in meaningful natural contexts.

Wild Literacy

Language, storytelling, and meaning-making in the outdoors
Wild Literacy sessions develop spoken language, reading, writing, and comprehension through rich, real-world experiences. Nature, local history, folklore, and faerie tales provide authentic stimuli for storytelling, discussion, vocabulary development, and purposeful writing.

Nurture Outdoors

Supporting social, emotional, and behavioural development
Nurture Outdoors sessions integrate Nurture principles with outdoor exploration, supporting wellbeing, emotional regulation, and social skills. Children engage in calm, relational, and purposeful experiences that connect social-emotional learning to the natural world.

Training can be delivered as workshops, short courses, or bespoke sessions for groups of parents, schools, or organisations.

Worldschooling Retreats

Place-based learning, culture, and adventure in the Scottish Highlands
These immersive retreats give families the chance to explore learning through place, history, folklore, and outdoor adventure, experiencing education as something lived, felt, and explored.
All activities are designed as immersive learning contexts, supporting problem-solving, resilience, teamwork, and providing rich material for literacy, numeracy, and reflective discussion.
All retreats are led by a qualified primary teacher and Mountain Leader, prioritising safety, inclusion, and meaningful learning.

Assessment & Forward Planning

Informed, practical, child-centred next steps
We offer bespoke assessment and forward planning in literacy, numeracy, or both, tailored to each child’s needs. Approaches are selected professionally based on the child, purpose, and context.

Parent & Educator Mentoring and Coaching

Supporting adults to understand and nurture children’s learning
Bespoke mentoring and coaching is offered for parents, home-educators, and teachers, focusing on practical strategies that can be implemented immediately.
